Volleyball insight...

Had a volleyball coach once say that even if we were playing terribly as a team, all it took to change the mental game and start winning was one person who could "fake it till you make it."

Seems like that's what it's all about right now.

Hi Diane,
I have been thinking about you particularly today as the weather changes, but is beautiful in so many ways. The volleyball insight rings true, and I'm hoping that these problems will be just a speed bump in your total recovery. I'm also hoping that the strength you have allows you to continue to work on your writing or revising whatever the case may be.
Keep that strong mark going.
Much love,
Charlene

Hi Diane,

I reread that volleyball quote several times and thought about it a lot. What it said to me was that sometimes in life we can't do it all and need to rely on someone else. You are so fortunate to have a supportive family that loves and adores you. Not to mention that bank of friends that care for you.

Once when I was sick, I had to let others do for me and it was HARD. But, it was a lesson well learned because I found out that it is as important to take as it is to give. It is a gift for both--the giver and the receiver.

So, on difficult days when you must rely on others consider it a job well-done because you have given them a gift.

So, take care my friend.

Love,

Judi

Hi, good friend,
I walked Water Street for you yesterday. Hunted for Dall Porpoises from the ferry. Noticed the Transit station, buses, and corner where we ran into you once -- I think it may have been my first meeting with Jeff.

While it's true that being happy can make us smile, that same smile, or any step toward a more positive outlook, can also make us happy. Sort of outside-in. Remember faking laughter until you couldn't stop? And yours is so contagious -- the laughter, the smile, the bright eyes, the playful irreverence... Fake it til you make it.

Thanks for putting up with us! You know the intention and love behind our hollow words, and even more, the wisdom we wish we had to share, but we just can't stop ourselves from spewing out what we can -- because of all you've shared with us.

I think of you everyday, and I'm sending love and energy your way.

Love,
Deb

Hiya Diane and FAMILY,

Too short to play volleyball, but my mantra is a line from The Outlaw Josie Wales from Chief Dan George: Endeavor to Persevere. Of course in the case of getting published, you and I know it's more like pestervere!

We keep reading the blog and wondering where you are this week. Or last week for that matter. We know at least you are pestering those medical folks.

I will send you a photo of our new rescue through your email.
